Diverse perspectives exist regarding its objectives, outcomes, and implications. While many support this intellectual endeavor, others have voiced opposition. Among the latter is the Maktab-i Tafkīk (Separation School), a contemporary intellectual trend critical of the movement. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, this article explores and critiques the reasons for this opposition. The study finds that the primary objections of the Maktab-i Tafkīk include the perceived self-sufficiency of religion and religious knowledge, the allegedly malevolent motives of the ʿAbbāsid caliphs and translators, and the purportedly harmful consequences of the movement for Islamic society. These objections are open to critique, particularly in relation to the school’s approach to reason and science, its contradictions with religious teachings encouraging intellectual inquiry, its failure to provide adequate evidence for the claimed malevolent intentions of the ʿAbbāsid rulers, the absence of explicit rejections of the translation movement by the Imāms, and the neglect of the movement’s positive contributions to the intellectual flourishing of Islamic civilization. نهضت ترجمه از مهم‌ترین رخدادهای علمی در تاریخ تمدن اسلامی به‌شمار می‌رود که دورۀ خلافت عباسیان شکل گرفت. دربارة این نهضت، اهداف، آثار و پیامدهای آن، دیدگاه‌های متفاوتی وجود دارد و بسیاری موافق و برخی نیز مخالف آن هستند. مکتب تفکیک از جریان‌های فکری، مخالف این نهضت به‌شمار می‌رود. پژوهش حاضر با روش توصیفی، تحلیلی، درصدد بررسی و نقد دلایل مخالفت این جریان با نهضت ترجمه است. یافته‌های این پژوهش نشان داد، مهم‌ترین دلایل مخالفت مکتب تفکیک با نهضت ترجمه، به‌خودکفایی دین و معرفت دینی، انگیزه‌ها و اهداف سوء خلفای عباسی، مترجمان و آثار و پیامدهای سوء آن در جامعه اسلامی ناظر است. دلایل مذکور از جهاتی قابل نقد‌ است که مهم‌ترین آن، نقد نوع نگرش این مکتب به‌عقل و علم، تعارض با برخی آموزه‌ها و دستورات دینی ناظر به‌اندیشه‌ورزی و کسب علم و دانش، ارائه‌نکردن شواهد و مستندات کافی در زمینة اهداف سوء خلفای عباسی، رد‌نکردن یا نقد صریح نهضت ترجمه از سوی ائمه(ع)، نقد برخی آثار سوء ترجمه و آثار تأثیرات مثبت آن در شکوفایی علمی تمدن اسلامی است. https://jhic.ut.ac.ir/article_101325_cea54a3012e840acfb57cc7979922648.pdf
