Dealing with the works of Sunnis and trying to depict the image of Imam Ali (AS) in their works can lead us to the view of their elites towards Hazrat Ali (AS). One of those who have been quoted with conflicting views about the Commander of the Faithful (AS) is Jahiz Mu'tazili, whose scholarly activities were extensive in Basra and Baghdad. However, until now, his position towards Amir al-Mu'minan (AS) has been less of a focus of researchers despite the richness of his works. This article seeks to determine his position towards the first imam of the Shiites by examining all the works of Jahiz, which contain information about Amir al-Mu'minin (a.s.) and the beliefs of groups and sects that have disappeared or In the opinion of the Sunnis, they are resolved to speak. In the study of Jahiz's works, a wide contradiction between Jahiz's support of Imam Ali (AS) and his enmity with him can be seen. The problem of the present research is, what is the reason for Jahiz's contradictory positions about Amir al-Mu'minin (AS)? The findings of this research indicate that by using his scientific and literary capital, Jahiz has been able to reflect the views of different sects towards Imam Ali (a.s.) as an impartial sect writer. At the same time, he appeared as a defender of the Imam in many letters and, considering his intellectual and scientific abilities, which was the product of his association with the Mu'tazila
