The emergence of new Sufi orders marked a new phase in the history of Sufism, leading to significant changes in both practice and beliefs. A historical review of the emergence of the Naqshbandi order provides a clear example of the nature and extent of these changes. The research focuses on how Baha' al-Din Naqshband , as a member of the Sufi tradition of Khwajagan, laid the groundwork for the emergence of a new Sufi order within this Sufi movement. Based on the findings of this research, Baha' al-Din Naqshband with his understanding of the Khwajagan tradition, its internal divisions, and the changing political landscape of the eighth century Transoxiana, made efforts to actively connect this movement with the broader society. The theoretical and practical actions he took resulted in the formation of a new Sufi order with distinct characteristics from the Khwajagan tradition that, while actively engaging in society, particularly in political and economic realms, was later adopted by the spiritual successors of Naqshbandiyya and continues to thrive as a global and proactive Sufi order.
